EverBank Field is home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, North Florida’s favorite football team. You can find all kinds of tailgate parties going on before the stadium doors open, but the fun doesn’t have to stop with the final whistle, especially if your team wins. Fortunately, Jacksonville is a bustling city with plenty to do, so if you want to party all night long, you’ll have several choices for where to go.

Explore the Elbow

The Elbow” is the name for a few blocks surrounding the Florida Theatre, where you can find music venues, restaurants, nightclubs, and bars. Anyone of these locations would make a good place to wind down after a big football game, especially since it’s just a few blocks west of the stadium. The Bay Street Bar and Grill is open late, and if you’d prefer something a little fancier, Spliffs Gastropub stays open almost as late and serves some fancy pub-inspired meals.

Intuition Ale Works

If you want to drink at a taphouse close enough to EverBank Field that you can walk there, Intuition Ale Works is right across the parking lot and two ponds away by the overpass. Intuition’s Taphouse isn’t open past midnight or on Mondays, but for the rest of the week, it’s a good place to get a bite to eat and enjoy a local brew like the People’s Pale Ale. Just be sure you find a seat early because you won’t be the only Jacksonville Jaguars fan who wants to get a drink at Intuition.

Aardwolf Brewing Company

The Aardwolf Brewing Company is right across the river from the arena on Hendricks Avenue. Their taproom has just about the same hours as Intuition Ale Works, and while they don’t serve food they do have a food truck parked right outside most evenings. You can also bring your own food, although if you want a drink you’ll need to pick from what they offer. You’ll be in for a real treat, though, since Aardwolf specializes in beers aged in wine and whiskey barrels.

Sidecar

For a more traditional bar experience, Sidecar is just up the road from Aardwolf. Sidecar is light on food options, but they more than make up for it with their list of cocktails, liquors, microbrew beers on tap and in bottles, and wines. They’ll even make sours and fizzes on request. Sidecar is also within walking distance to many of the hotels near EverBank Field on the South Bank.

Whether you’re drinking to celebrate or drinking to commiserate, you can find some nice pubs, bars, and taprooms near EverBank Field once the game is over. Just remember to drink responsibly, and if you don’t have a designated driver you should find a way to get home or to a hotel room that doesn’t put you behind the wheel.
