Aceitunas Beer Garden

This beer garden doubles as a nightclub and offers the perfect backdrop for a friendly get-together, not just for you but for your four-legged friend, too. Enjoy live music while sampling savory food truck cuisine and happy hour specials. Meanwhile, your dog can incite its curiosity with a guided tour of the outdoor patio, complete with koi fish pond, blossoming trees, and a miniature bridge. 

Aceitunas Beer Garden even hosts a regular “Yappy Hour” event, which raises money for the Humane Society for animal protection. It’s open Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Bring your pets anytime! Just make sure they’re well-mannered and remain on a leash.

Chamizal National Memorial Trails

On the grounds of the Chamizal National Memorial, along with the U.S.-Mexico border, sits a network of loops, gravel trails, and paved paths ideal for walking, jogging, and biking. Bring a leash and take your pooch for a walk along the track as you take in the sights around you. The trails surround 50-plus acres of faint rolling hills, plus a river, courtyard, picnic area, and outdoor stage. Stop by anytime between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., and don’t forget to stock up on water beforehand.

Westside Dog Park (Don Haskins Community Center)

Your energetic pup will feel right at home at the Westside Dog Park. Ditch the leash and let your furry friend run free and mingle with other canines. This park is fenced all the way around, with two areas separating small dogs from larger breeds, so you won’t have to worry about your pup running amok. You’ll also notice plenty of turf, benches, and a water bowl station to keep your pooch hydrated. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., this park is perfect for your next doggie rendezvous.
