The winter holiday season is one of the most popular time for traveling! But not everyone is looking for family getaways…some are determined to explore the avenue of romance and sweet bliss! And what can be sweeter than BLŪ’s “chill” atmosphere – the wildly popular ice-made lodge, featuring the warm glow of a fireplace and mantel that displays an ice-carved trophy fish and game, a 6-foot carved moose in a wall of ice and countless activities in BLŪ’s 2,000 square feet of “chill” space.

BLŪ Ice Bar and Lounge at Grand Superior Lodge in Two Harbors has opened its icy doors. Internationally acclaimed ice carvers – teamed with the help of additional local carvers – worked with 170 blocks of ice, each weighing 300 pounds. Snow – which is used to create the “logs” included in the BLŪ’s ice log lounge theme – is also used.

BLŪ contains 27,000 gallons of water frozen, sculpted and perfected for an ice experience like nothing else out there!

It is truly the ultimate winter destination,” says Barb Swenson, Marketing Director for Odyssey Resorts. “While BLŪ is made almost entirely of ice, inside the carved ice walls is an inviting area that will simply take your breath away. From the fur-lined ice benches and star covered ceiling to the interactive games and signature BLŪ martini; this is the perfect holiday or winter getaway.”

BLŪ features an entertainment area and five different games including ice beer pong and the stump game. Enjoy drink specials served in ice shot glasses while sitting outside next to a roaring bonfire!

BLŪ Ice Bar and Lounge is the perfect place to relax with family and friends during the holiday season. Once again, Chris Swarbrick – carving champion from the St. Paul Winter Carnival and Peter Slavin, internationally acclaimed ice sculpting performer – has crafted the BLŪ Ice Bar and Lounge. Spend New Year’s at BLŪ — ringing in with live music, drinks, and a one-of-a-kind chill atmosphere! BLŪ Ice Bar and Lounge at Grand Superior Lodge in Two Harbors is an absolute can’t-miss experience.

That is freaking awesome. I’ve never been to an ice bar before, but I’ve wanted to for years. I think the idea is the coolest.

  • Vera

That is truly spectacular. I LOVE the idea of sitting inside a giant carved igloo, basically. The color of the ice and the texture is amazing!

  • I’d love to see all the ice carvings. Growing up in WInnipeg, we had Festical du Voyageur and there was always an ice sculpture competition. I remember as a kid in grade school in the super cold Northern Canada we’d be out making our own!!!

  • I’m completely fascinated by this. The only cool ice sculptures I have seen were in a bar in London. I’d love to be there while this place is being created, it must be amazing to watch.

  • Ice carvings have always fascinated me. I think this would be an adventure unlike anything I have ever seen before. I was born in Alaska but was too young when we left to remember all of the ice everyone told me about. To create these things out of ice is incredible.

  • This looks like so much fun! I would love to visit a place like this 🙂

  • Lisa Marie Heath

Wow that looks absolutely incredible! I would love to visit there and see it for myself. Such a cool (no pun intended) idea!

This looks so awesome! I would love to try out some ice beer pong – the whole place looks like so much fun!

  • Rachelle Gordon

I love this! Totally not a drinker, but I’d love to check it out. It reminds me of a James Bond movie where he stays in an ice hotel!

I have always wanted to go to a place like this! SO fun! I need to add it to my bucket list for sure – love these pictures!

This is so cool. I visited an ice bar in Paris last December and had a great time. Of course, I had to have a drink of champagne while I was there.

  • The whole place looks like Elsa’s castle! I don’t drink but I’d love to hangout there someday.

  • Daniela Fries

It looks really cool but I’m sure it’s cold there, so not for me. I don’t own winter clothes. However, people have all kind of ideas and that’s great.

  • Leigh Anne Borders

I would love to visit here one day. The pictures make it look so incredible.

  • MomGlenz

How fun! I wish someday I can visit this place….

  • Not a fan of cold stuff. I will be leaving that place in a matter of time haha!
